Getting started on VuwaniTalk: create an account and make your first call
A step-by-step guide to downloading the app, creating your account, verifying it, and completing your first call.
Step 1: Download the app
Search for "VuwaniTalk" on the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). Download and install the app, then open it when it is ready.
Step 2: Create your account
You can register with your email and a password, or sign in with Google or Apple. Choose whichever is easiest for you — your account will then be tied to that method, so keep it in mind when signing in later.
Step 3: Verify your email
After registering, we send a six-digit verification code to your email address (or via WhatsApp if you prefer). Enter the code in the app to confirm your account. This step keeps your account secure and makes sure your receipts and balance alerts go to the right place.
Step 4: Add calling credit
VuwaniTalk works on a pay-as-you-go balance. Before you can make a call you need a little credit. Tap the top-up option in the app and choose an amount and a payment method — PayPal or Paystack card payments. Credits are applied immediately. For a guided rundown, read How to top up your account.
Step 5: Make your first call
Open the dial pad, enter a number (or pick a contact from your phone book — your contacts stay on your device), and press call. Your call connects over the internet, and the person on the other end answers on any normal phone. Walk through it in How to make your first call.
A few useful things to know
- Your contacts are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
- You can check your balance and call history from the app at any time.
- You can request a dedicated number (a DID) so people can call you — see Requesting your own number.
