Why will my VuwaniTalk call not connect?
The common reasons a call fails to connect, from low balance to invalid numbers, and what to try next.
A call that will not connect is usually easy to fix
When a call fails to connect, something is preventing VuwaniTalk from reaching the destination. Work through these checks in order.
- Check your balance: VuwaniTalk checks your balance before connecting a call. If you are out of credit, top up first — see How to top up.
- Check the number format: Dial the full international number with the country code, e.g. +27 for South Africa, and no leading zero where the carrier expects a country code.
- Check your connection: A weak or unstable connection can stop the call from setting up. Try switching from data to Wi-Fi or vice versa.
- Try a different number: Confirm the destination is valid by dialling a reliable number to isolate the issue.
- Restart the app: Closing and reopening VuwaniTalk refreshes the connection and often clears a temporary problem.
If one number fails but others work
That usually points to the specific destination rather than your app. It may be a temporary network issue with that carrier, or a number that is unreachable. Try again a little later.
Persistent problems
If every call fails even with good balance and signal, our servers may be unable to route the destination, or there could be a service interruption. Check our status or contact support — see Contacting support.
