Why did my VuwaniTalk top-up fail?
The most common reasons a payment is declined, and exactly what to do to get your credit added.
Payments can fail for several reasons
A declined payment is usually down to something small on the payment side rather than a problem with your VuwaniTalk account. Here are the most common causes and how to solve them.
- Insufficient funds or card limit: Your bank may have declined the charge. Check that your card has enough available balance and that you have not hit a daily spending limit.
- Card not supported: Make sure your card is enabled for international or online transactions, and that it is not a prepaid card that blocks recurring charges.
- Bank security block: Banks sometimes block overseas or online payments as a precaution. Contact your bank or unlock online payments, then try again.
- Incorrect card details: Double-check the card number, expiry and CVV. A single mistyped digit will cause a decline.
- Network or timeout: If the page timed out, the payment may not have gone through. Wait a moment and check your balance before retrying so you do not pay twice.
I was charged but have no credit
First, check your balance in the app — sometimes the new credit takes a minute to appear. If it is still not there after a few minutes, keep your payment receipt and contact support so we can reconcile it. We treat double charges and missing credit as a priority.
What counts as a refundable top-up?
We generally only refund PayPal and Paystack top-ups, within 30 days of purchase, and for amounts of at least 1 USD. See Understanding your receipt for how to read your payment record, and Contacting support to start a refund request.
